Without doubt anyone visiting Myanmar will not fail to notice the Burmese people's devotion to Buddha. Buddha images adorn many different buildings all over the country and it brings great delight to our wood carvers to carve them.

Much of the timber here has been fashioned by over 50 - 100 years of exposure to the elements. Wind, rain and the sun as well as our team of highly experienced wood carvers have all played their part in making these unique products. Timber comes from all sorts of places like Old Minister's Homes, Monasteries, and Colonial Buildings- the days of the British Empire etc… This is not just timber, it is history. Many of the carvings here are a result of our constant search for beautiful old pieces of wood that we can preserve through our work.

The Chindits were an Allied Special Force formed and lead by General Orde Wingate. They fought deep behind enemy lines in World War II (1943-44) in Northern Burma against the Japanese. They were successful in their operation in recapturing Burma from the Japanese. Chindits is a corruption of the Burmese word Chinthe, the Burmese word for the mythical lion guardians of Burmese pagodas.
